Course overview

A crisis can require rapid decisions across operations, leadership, communications and employee welfare. This five-day course examines how an organisation can prepare for those decisions, define responsibilities and coordinate its response.

The programme connects crisis scenarios and business impact analysis with emergency plans, control centres and operational, tactical and strategic command. It also covers reputation management, press conferences, psychological and welfare considerations, and post-incident debriefing.

Case studies, a crisis communications exercise and a major-incident roleplay help participants practise the approaches discussed. The course is aimed at people responsible for crisis management, emergency response and continuity or recovery, including security, fire, health, safety and environmental personnel.
